Abstract

A new fossil fish Percichthys longuimayiensis was collected in a Paleocene continental sequence from Lonquimay, Chile (38.degree.31' south; 71.degree.12' west). The specimen is compared with fossil species of the genus Percichthys and with living species of the genera Percilia and Percichthys.
